July 3 - One more night at Forward Harbour

The winds were too strong for us to move on today and so we spent another day and night in Forward Harbour. This morning, we noted that the “house batteries” were low. These batteries power virtually everything on the boat except the engine starter. We wouldn’t be driving the boat today (which would have recharged the batteries) and so we decided to run the generator for a while to do a recharge. Except that, the generator would not start and the battery was so dead it wouldn’t take a boost from the starter batteries. This could get (more) boring if I go into much more detail so suffice it to say that Bill and Rob solved the problem by tightening the alternator belt in the genset and …some other stuff. Rob was stiff and sore from crawling around in the engine room but not too tired to go fishing with Bill. Rob and Bill caught crab for dinner; we are living off the land!

Bill cooked this crab for us on his boat
I can't do it
