July 5 - Potts Landing

Today, we traveled to Potts landing and will stay here, at anchor, for one night.  It was an interesting trip here through some narrow, shallow channels where it was important to stay on the "recommended route".   Potts Landing is very pretty.  On one shore there are a few small float homes but no sign that anyone was there today.  There were only a few boats here when we pulled in this afternoon but this is a popular anchorage and so there were at least a dozen more by bedtime.  There is nowhere to walk the dog and so we pull up to a rocky islet and let Blue jump out (with Casca) to do his thing.  At first, he would bark and insist that we also come ashore with him but as of today, he will go off on his own and let us wait for him in the dinghy.  We can only let him go off on his own if it is a very small island where we are sure there are no predators.  We hosted Eileen and Bill for dinner tonight.  They came to us by rowboat and rowed home again in the dark.  Great evening.
